Casual scrolling on Facebook Marketplace sometimes yields delightfully unexpected results, like the acquisition of massive yardage of white lace curtains just begging to be upcycled into a mid-18th century ballgown! It sometimes also yields a new challenge, when those curtains arrive and turn out to be primarily polyester rather than the 100% linen they were advertised as.

Footwork and Frolick has a strong relationship with Groton's Historical Society. Each December, we perform a traditional 1860's quadrille called Around the Christmas Tree at their open house for Grotonfest. In exchange, they allow us to use their space for our annual Victorian afternoon tea fundraiser.

This year's Halloween undertaking is a physical manifestation of Vulf's masterpiece of whimsy; the song Disco Snails! I built this costume around a net rhinestone overdress that I purchased at my favorite Boston consignment store, Covet.
